“I love you Nicaragua”, “be strong, be strong, Nicaragua”. Those are the words, in sign language, from Edwin Carcache, communication student and political prisoner in Nicaragua.
During their fake trials, Edwin and the other detainees have previously sent encouraging messages to their peers outside. The Ortega regime has now denied Edwin and the other detainees the right to speak to the media, just like the regime denied the students their freedom and right to protest.
Next time, we will be looking forward to the students communicating with their peers in morse code :-).
