Debate: Turmoil in Nicaragua: Is there an end in sight?

On 23 October 2018, representatives of the Alianza Civica and the White and Blue National Unity met at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington to discuss the situation in Nicaragua. The event was named: Turmoil in Nicaragua: Is there and end in sight?

Lesther Alemán, a student of Communications at the Universidad Centroamericana and a member of the Alianza Cívica’s Electoral Commission; Douglas Castro, researcher and teacher at the Universidad Centroamericana and a member of the Alianza Cívica’s Political Committee; and Jeancarlo López, a student of Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua and a member of the Alianza Cívica’s Verification and Security Commission

Cynthia J. Arnson, Director of the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Latin American program hosted the event, and Associate Professor Shelley McConnell from St. Lawrence University joined as an expert on Nicaragua and electoral processes.
